The Glory Days
This blog is about friendship, about the little incidents that make us laugh , cry ,forgive ,get angry ,about incidents that remind us to enjoy life every moment.Incidents that are forgotten as we grow old .This blog will help us reminisce the memories and smile when we look back at our lives..Never cry coz its over , smile coz it happened.

The Intellectual

By Chowdapa

One of the best and one of the worst organised trips of my life was the Simla trip, when i was in 2nd year in college .ravi, dheeraj, fawaz, anurag and i embarked on a journey to simla ..normally the development cycle ofa successful trip consists of 3 stages - 1.decide where to go ( sounds easy , but agreeing on 1 single place is far tougher ) 2.planning how to go (the transportation) 3.packing the necessities( self explanatory).and in our trip , all the 3 stages were completed in less than 24 hours!! it was total chaos and it was ttal fun ..anyway, anurag's dad is a big shot executive in a big firm, and he booked a 5star guest house..when we reached simla and the address given to us , we were expecting a modest 2 storey building, we believed in the "roti kapda makaan" wala theory , that was enough to keep us happy , but the guest house , DAMN! , it was a fortress..anurag's dad knew how that planning is not our forte , so he had already made a few plans for us ..there was a dam nearby , which his firm was building, and so he had booked a tour for us..when we got to know, and since we were in 2nd year, and relatively new to the engineering field, we were quite excited...while on the way to the dam , everyone was discussing about electircal science, how things work and everyonewas trying their best to show that they had learnt SOMETHING in school and the 1 year in college..but most of wat everyone was saying was just , crap ..just showing off, u know college kids, finally we reach the dam , we are given a very informative tour and finally we are taken tothe main room where there are engineers and lots of gadgets and huge machines ..and one of them sincerely asked us if we had any doubts and questions? we HAD to had to show off !!! i started with a question about primary secondary mtor sumthing , a safe bet , a standard question was ravi , whoasked sumthing about coils , a typical text books question ..fawaz and dheeraj also asked run of the mill questions..meanwhile , anurag was quiet, silently coming up with a question that wouldblow their mind , and would earn him respect for asking such a tough and intellectually charged question ..since the engineers knew who anurag was , more importantly who his dad was , they coaxed him ,"beta poocho poocho " and " aapke papa se zyada intelligent insaan maine aaj tak nahi dekha beta, u should be proud"..poor anurag was feeling the pressure ..the room was air conditioned , but he was sweating..his eyes were darting here and there, his mind was racing , trying desperately to come up with a question to blow everyone away ..suddenyl his eyes rested on an instrument , mounted on the wall, it had lots of numbers on it, and it was looked quite hi-fi to anurag ..and he asked, with attitude and a swagger, with one hand in his jeans pocket and with the other , pointing stylishly at the machine which was mystifying him,and asked " ive been wondering , what is the purpose of that machine ", deliberately deepening his voiceso he could have an effect...silence for 5 seconds..we all looked in the direction anurag was pointing and the answer came " its a clock , its 3:15 pm , and its PURPOSE is to tell us the time" ....
